Nursery
We are so pleased to welcome you to our Nursery class page!
In our nursery, we provide a welcoming environment to ensure all children feel included, safe and secure. We value children’s interests, providing a balance of direct teaching and child-initiated activities. We support children to make links in their learning, build on what they already know and can do and celebrate achievements!
We provide a solid foundation in the seven areas of learning through well planned, rich and stimulating experiences. The seven areas of learning are:
- Communication and Language
- Physical Development
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding the World
- Expressive Arts and Design
In nursery, a lot of our learning takes place outside in our fabulous garden and forest. Children are encouraged to take risks safely, learn to persevere and problem solve. The most important part of our day is growing friendships and relationships, with peers and adults. We will spend a lot of time talking and growing our language skills so we are confident communicators with an extensive vocabulary, ready to learn to read and write.
Each half term, we look at different topics. As the seasons change, we look at our local environment and celebrate the different festivals and cultural activities that our classmates enjoy.
We aim for all children to be happy and settled in our nursery class and we value partnership with parents. Please make use of your See Saw account to view your child’s learning regularly.
Please visit our Nursery Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram pages to see updates about what we have been doing in class and celebrating our achievements.
